SPRING 2025

MONDAY

Run Club (K-6th): Is your child ready to burn off some steam & have some fun? Join this co-ed running club where your child will have the chance to meet new friends, have a team building experience, move their bodies with fun running activities such as relays, speed, agility & quickness, & pacing all packed into an hour of movement, character building, and team fun. We will be building our cardiovascular system and muscles.


TUESDAY

Minecraft: Survival Skills (K-6th): For young gamers looking to take their Minecraft skills to the next level, this program challenges children to sharpen their survival skills in the adventurous world of Minecraft. They’ll explore more advanced gameplay, such as tracking coordinates, food sustainability, resource organization, building shelters, and crafting essential tools. As they navigate various biomes and face environmental challenges, they'll develop resilience and persevere through setbacks. Expect your child to set goals for growth with guided tasks to help them progress in the game. No device needed! We provide everything your child needs to dive into the immersive world of Minecraft.

 

Anime Manga Drawing for Kids (K-6th): Get ready to laugh – Young Rembrandts Winter Cartoon classes will bring out your child’s inner artist while grinning from ear to ear and learning the fine technique of Anime Manga cartooning. Anime and manga are popular art styles derived from Japanese culture. "Anime" is the term used to describe Japanese animation. "Manga" is the term used to describe Japanese comic books. The students will create characters and scenes utilizing these dynamic and exciting art styles. As mentioned previously, we will focus on their detailed and colorful profiles, present the drawings, analyze the characters, and point out important features. Come draw with us!


WEDNESDAY

Spy Science: Crime Scene Investigators (K-2nd): How do detectives and investigators use science to solve a mystery? We will spend this program understanding forensic science and learning the tricks of the spy trade. We'll investigate fingerprints, spying techniques (surveillance), secret codes, invisible ink, and other sneaky science!

 

Soccer (K-3rd): Youth Soccer, provided by Kids in Motion is for K-3 children and is designed to be a structured sport for girls and boys to enjoy as a group. Coaches focus on holding an active class while teaching technique and learning how to control the ball, moving on to dribbling, passing, shooting, and scrimmage time. Children also participate in warm ups, stretching, and soccer games for a fun time had by all. The goal is to make friends, be active, and learn a new skill each week, making it a great after school activity.

 

Comedy Improv! (4th-6th): Want to laugh and act without any of the pressures of memorizing a script? Then this class is for you! In Comedy Improv, we learn the basics of how to think on your feet in order to create fun and silly scenes. Students will learn about C.O.R.E. (characters, objective, relationships, environment) and the importance of "Yes, and" as the foundation for all good scene work. Students should come prepared to try something new, all while having fun!



THURSDAY

Cooking: Breakfast Club (K-6th): In this session, the kids will get to learn all sorts of breakfast treats, ranging from super simple, to a delicious meal to get excited over! They will be breakfast champions by the end, being able to crack eggs without a second thought and how to be a baking pro.

 

Knit & Crochet Club (4th-6th): Knit & Crochet Club is the place to be for to learn some new skills and make some new friends. Yarn enthusiasts at any skill level can come to learn from their peers and teacher in a cozy environment. New students will learn the basics of knitting and crocheting and apply them to some fun projects. Returning members will continue their learning with some more advanced techniques. This session we will continue to work with plarn (plastic yarn) to make reusable items and serve our community!

 

Math Games Club: Multiplication & Division (3rd-5th): In this club is a fun way for students to engage in multiplication and division through various math games. This class will be focused on multiplication and division fluency for students who are beginning their understanding of multiplication/division or are looking to feel more confident in their multiplication/division facts. Each week, students will participate in various different games that are meant to help with their development of multiplication and division facts that meet their instructional needs while also encouraging a love of math. Our goal is to make math learning collaborative and fun!

** Please note: This class will be focused only on multiplication and division facts through 10 x 10 (Facts to 100).


FRIDAY

Pickleball for Kids (K-6th): Pickleball is a fun, fast-paced paddle sport that combines tennis, table tennis and badminton. Kids will learn the rules of the game, and will practice their skills through games. Once they have gotten used to the basics of ball striking and the rules of gameplay, they will work together as a team while competing in fun, lightly competitive tournament style matches. This is a great way to join in on the fastest-growing sport in America!

 

Chess (K-6th): Learn chess with Silver Knights Chess Academy (formerly Magnus Chess Academy), world champion Magnus Carlsen’s academy!  We’ve taught 100,000 children to play including state and national champions, but most students are beginners looking to learn a new skill and have FUN. Class time is divided between lessons and practice games.  Lessons range from the basic rules to advanced tournament strategies.

Students will have the opportunity to play in tournaments (in-person and online) outside of club time.  This in-person club includes free online extras including weekly practice tournaments and an event with world champion Magnus Carlsen or Judit Polgar, the best female chess player of all time.  All chess supplies provided.
